Cyclists take over St James's Park

Not content with taking over the roads of the capital, cyclists are also taking over one of London’s most beautiful parks, with The Freewheel Festival.
From midday, St James’s Park will be buzzing with entertainment, stalls and more. So, when they’ve had enough of enjoying the capital on two wheels, Londoners can leave their bikes in the secure park, take a break, and check out what's on. Our entertainment correspondent, Penny Farthing, gives her top tips on what to look out for at The Freewheel Festival.
Penny says "My advice with any event like this is to chill out, hang around and see what comes your way. However, it'd be a crime not to catch at least some of these acts – especially as they're all free!"
The central arena will host the fantastic Cycling Circus - a group of ace cyclists who can do things on two wheels you or I couldn't even dream of. There'll also be cycling acrobatics, jugglers, mime artists, face painters and a fantastic performers all over St James' Park during the day.
If you want to get a little more bike-centric, you can brush up on your bicycle maintenance with free demonstrations, or take a ride on a whole bunch of weird and wonderful bikes. Then when your thighs have really had enough, you can head off for a professional sports massage.
And of course, if you'd rather just put your feet up and spend time with your bike buddies, there are plenty of picnic spots where you can hide out and watch it all from a safe distance.
