Not content with taking over the roads of the capital, cyclists are also taking over one of London’s most beautiful parks, with The Freewheel Festival.

From midday, St James’s Park will be buzzing with entertainment, stalls and more. So, when they’ve had enough of enjoying the capital on two wheels, Londoners can leave their bikes in the secure park, take a break, and check out what’s on. Our entertainment correspondent, Penny Farthing, gives her top tips on what to look out for at The Freewheel Festival.

PENNY SAYS “MY ADVICE WITH ANY EVENT LIKE THIS IS TO CHILL OUT, HANG AROUND AND SEE WHAT COMES YOUR WAY. HOWEVER, IT’D BE A CRIME NOT TO CATCH AT LEAST SOME OF THESE ACTS – ESPECIALLY AS THEY’RE ALL FREE!”

The central arena will host the fantastic Cycling Circus – a group of ace cyclists who can do things on two wheels you or I couldn’t even dream of. There’s also cycling acrobatics, bike trails as well as kids’ activities and street theatre.

Or, if you just want to kick back and spend time with your bike buddies, head for the picnic spots.
